Hand iin made with craftsmanship
台湾・台中市に計画した、日本の職人技によってつくられた鞄や革製品を扱うセレクトショップです。日本の商品を紹介する店舗であることから、日本人デザイナーへ依頼したいというクライアントの要望を受けてスタートしました。
取り扱う商品は、伝統的な和のデザインではなく、日本の現代的なファッションを代表する複数のブランドです。そのため、特定の様式に偏るのではなく、さまざまな商品を受け入れられる、普遍性のあるインテリアを目指しました。
吹き抜けのある1階には商品の陳列棚と、小さなカフェカウンターを設けています。買い物を目的とした人だけでなく、街を訪れた人が気軽に立ち寄り、商品に触れられる店舗としました。
レンガ調タイル、オークの棚板、白く塗装したカウンターを組み合わせ、温かく親しみやすい空間にまとめています。
2階は、日本のクラフツマンシップをより深く知ってもらうため、キーケースなどの革小物を製作できるワークショップスペースです。1階とは雰囲気を変え、脚立をモチーフにした棚やインダストリアル照明を用いることで、工房を思わせる空間としました。
商品を販売するだけでなく、手仕事の背景やものづくりの楽しさまで体験できる店舗を目指した計画です。
A specialty shop in Taichung City, Taiwan.
Its main commodities are bags made by Japanese artisans. This project began with the desire of a Taiwanese client to have a Japanese designer for a shop selling Japanese products.
The commodities are bags with sophisticated and fashionable designs from Japan, made by a few Japanese brands, rather than traditional Japanese-style bags. Therefore, the shop did not have an excessively eccentric design.
With an interior design providing a warm and soft impression, such as brick-style tiles, oak shelves, and white coated countertops, any products can fit into the shop.
To provide a better understanding of craftsman products, a workshop space was made on the second floor for making leather goods, such as key cases. In contrast to the first floor, factory elements were enhanced, including display shelves resembling stepladders, and industrial lighting.
